Founder Shauna Goh had the opportunity to facilitate Web 2.0 Art history lessons to students of Ngee Ann Secondary School chartering their endeavors to explore curation and presenting their works in site-specific and new media platforms.
Whether it’s under a tree or around a dining table, communities have gathered to share stories for centuries, inspiring empathy and learning. This age-old practice can be traced back to the prehistoric period when humans lived in caves. Re-creating this in a contemporary urban setting, a neon-lit cave is set up at NEX. Viewers are welcome to gather around a campfire, featuring visual stories created by students from Zhonghua Secondary School. Enjoy the stop-motion animations (including imagined realities of robots and animals), masks you can ‘try on’ with Augmented Reality, and photographs that celebrate the neighborhood of Serangoon.
